When you see Dr Kristian van Mourik for your initial consulatation, a consultation fee is payable on the day of your appointment. Our team will process your Medicare claim for you, and your rebate will be deposited directly into your nominated bank account.
After your consultation, you’ll receive a detailed treatment plan and quote. This will include all relevant item numbers, which you can provide to your health fund and Medicare to confirm how much of the cost will be covered.
Our fees are set in line with the Australian Medical Association’s recommended schedule. In most cases, there will be a gap payment between the surgical fee and what is covered by Medicare and your health fund.
If your procedure requires an anaesthetist, we’ll provide their contact details so you can obtain their fee schedule. Medicare and private health insurance will usually cover part of the anaesthetist’s costs.
